2006 Top Sellers:

This Is My Home - In 1986, twenty two million people visited Expo 86 in Vancouver. The centrepiece of the fair was the Canadian Pavilion and when people first entered the building, they were brought into a large multi-media theatre where they were treated to the presentation “This Is My Home”. Images of Canada-the land, its icons and its people flashed around the room and over-all soared the strains of “This is my Home”.
It has become an unofficial second anthem of sorts and is played annually on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on Canada day with full symphony and a massive choir. This concert band arrangement is true to the symphonic original and with singers and choir, it is a stirring work guaranteed to be a climax to any Canadian assembly.
A choir with male and female soloists is required. The optional children’s choir can, of course, be performed by the main choir.

Cathedral Grove - One of the movements from the Cascadia Suite, it includes themes written originally for the 1994 Commonwealth Games held in Victoria, BC.
The first Part of the suite, Cascadia saluted the grandeur of the mountains of the same name. Cathedral Grove takes us into the stillness of the arboreal forest with the ferns and salal underfoot and the over-arching majesty of the giants of the forest.

Cascadia - The piece was originally commissioned by the Summer Pops Youth Orchestra, Garth Williams and Jim Littleford, Music Directors on the occasion of the orchestra’s 10th Anniversary.
It includes themes written originally for the 1994 Commonwealth Games held in Victoria, BC. Part of a three movement suite, Cascadia is an orchestral tone poem saluting the grandeur of the Cascades and the lands that lie below them.

Pacifica - This award winning composition, a tone poem, was written to celebrate the beauty of the Pacific North West region of the United States and Canada. The opening theme’s energetic air brings to mind the busy coastal ports and cities. A sensitive clarinet solo slows the pace right down to the stillness of a quiet lagoon or lake. The piece finishes with a soaring orchestral theme echoing the drama and majesty of the mountainous coastal fjords and the Rockies

Bay City Bounce - Bay City Bounce is a minor blues with a harmonic twist at the end of each phrase. It begins with a brass canon and goes into a swing/shuffle feel. There are two solo sections which bookend a group soli section. I was inspired to write the music while looking out over English Bay from my apartment and seeing all the life on the beach and on the water, ever changing. Vancouver, being a city of bays “Bay City” emerged as part of the title. Bounce? Well that might have been the girls, or the bikinis, or the boats bouncing on the water!
